Dear

by Elisabeth Barstowe — Read all 441 poems by Elisabeth Barstowe

I've been trying to figure out something to write that can fit this little fellow on the picture and now I finally have it. :)

Poem Artwork

Shy away little one
you're poetry undone.
I wish you safe travels
as your destiny unravel.

I am a little taken aback
by how fast you picked up track.
I was merely about to approach
no need for you to reproach.

Many nights have a laid awake
dreaming of the roads we could take.
Now I cannot find my way back again
for what is now compared to then?

Don't you stand there all alone
I promise cupid won't shoot you down.
At least not this night can't you tell?
I'll let you run back to your cell.

Angel of mine.

From the title, I think you're writing about a "dear" one that is so shy that you never really get to know him/her.

If not, the picture is not a fawn, because fawns have spots. And it's not a buck, unless it is after it has lost its horns. So most probably it is a doe. Does tend to have one or two fawns every year. Deer can be quite friendly if you feed them. They will eat out of your hand.
