Questions without answers

Poem Artwork

Where are all the questions when you need them?
So above as below? An answer somewhere in the flow?
Can't voice the most important ones, for fear of being shattered.

For a moment something glittered like gold, left ajar the
lid to the treasure chest, jewels parading their best.

All that glitters isn't gold, or so I've been told.
Radiance can hide 'neath the veil of a bride,
while scum can pose with pride,
not even a whif of shame in their posers game.
But that's not you is it?

Have you seen the court yester?
I could have sworn he was here just the other day.
Left with conundrums, I scratch my sore head.
What shenanigans you play old fool!

As I come awake I spread my wings,
lift off to the skies sailing on the wind.
Flutes and harps accompany
my ascent.
It was almost as if heavenly meant,
if only I believed....

My wings are broken, that's true ,
but they are still good enough for you.

Sometimes I catch you howling at the moon
in some sort of manic display of worship.
But was it for me?
I don't have all the answers you see.

So many questions without answers and still we need to ask them. An introspective poem asking all the right questions worth probing.
