A rebel with a cause

Poem Artwork

I love you once, I love you twice, I love you three times and still counting
I am a rebel with a cause and my cause is you, that much is true

What can I say? You completely melt my rough edges away
I was a planner, a logistic, holistic with a need for areal view
now my mind is down in the here and now, completely fixed on you

Maybe it wasn't what you meant to do, but you blew me away
a hit and run, but I'm not cutting you loose, your head is in my noose

I plead before the members of the judge and jury, my life as it was,
now a smoking pile of embers, my legs wont heed my call to walk away

What more can I say? I never wanted it this way
with the deep currents of love and need I sway

With the treacherous call of need my desire feed
the tides pulling me back and forth on your court

Pulled down by your depth
on your waves rolling by
rocked, cradled, swept
away, far away

All I can see is the fire you lit in me
it will never again set me free

Before my eyes a deep curtain of sinful red
moving in my body, come to my bed

From my feet to my head painful desire
only you can stifle and quench that fire

If I didn't love you so I would put a spell on you
that I would be the only one in your view

But I love you and that's why I am cutting you loose
releasing your head from this binding noose

You are free to do as you please, my love
as long as you are happy and in love
