The fury ... of his existence was like
A veritable derision of life itself Yet life clung to him like
An inflated curse
A man
So easy to hate
So impossible to ignore
Like a repugnant haze
That
No pinprick could penetrate
His life was shrouded
In the thin fog
Of his indecipherable psyche All around him … an aura swelled
Like a whoop of vulnerability
A mystique
Often
Perceived as lunacy
About just one thing, his fans & cynics agreed.
The more you think you knew him
The less you really knew him And
A desire to penetrate this myth Became their common goal
Yet his life was like a dour billow Over which the sun never seems to shine
But
About his mind
No one knew a thing
Gashed ... alive ... brilliant
His mind
Was
Their judgement seat
