I wonder what will happen
The day I cease to be
Who will be there crying
Retrieving memories of me
Will there be another place
Of which people often spoke
Or will there be just darkness
Another one of life's stupid jokes
Will I be blind or shall I see
Be deaf or will I hear
Everything but who I was
Will be reflecting in the mirror
My arms, my hands, my legs, my feet
Forever motionless and numb
I fear the day that it arrives
But I know that it will come
I must cherish every moment
I must drive and strive to thrive
To celebrate just who I am
Reassuring me that I'm still alive
Be always safe,
Karen
