even phoned to pray at night.

I almost began to love you,

You could have fooled me! 
I'de  thought  I'de  found my "wed - to - be"  !

My mind said yes, but my heart never knew
that you were just another one, passing through.

When we would walk to church together,
you'd hold  my  hand  so tight! 

But deep inside your eyes I spied something else
in ... your ... sights. Because I kept my love from
you, you held conditional spite!
