Ground control to Major Tom Ground Control to Major Tom What the hell is going on? Suggest you answer intercom Scrambling F-16’s, countdown’s on Check your radio and may God’s love be with you This is Ground control to Major Tim You’ve really laid an Egg And the papers want to know which lawyer you will snare Now it’s time to face reporters if you dare This is Major Tim to ground control They’re knocking at the door, my joint fell to the floor And my head is floating in a most peculiar way And the clouds look very different today For here I am sitting in the cockpit, far above the world My career is through and there’s nothing I can do Though I’m passed 200 lousy miles, and I’m feeling very ill And I thought my aircraft knew which way to go Tell my wife I love her job very much since mine is gone I know Ground control to Major Tim Your circuit was dead and that was wrong Can you hear me Major Tim? Excellent,clever sarcasm,I still don't know what happened. I'll reserve judgement until i do. However, I do think our lack of pilots keeps them in the air too long. Something needs to be done!

This is quite a mysterious story. It's very hard to believe that they were both fast asleep, or both arguing so much that they somehow missed Miineapolis. I wonder if we'll ever learn the truth.

To be fair, try to work thirteen hours at a stretch EVERYDAY holding thousand of lives in your hands and see how you feel at the end of the week. I hope that those that said they are overpaid buss drivers don't get one on their red-eye fly. St. Peter don't greet shaking hands.

You know what they say, you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. Pilots these days make so little money, it's no wonder these things happen. When the story said they were "discussing airline policy", I reckon that was the mile-high version of bitching at the proverbial water-cooler. Still, it must have been one hell of a conversation! Great, creative poem by the way.
