I lost a hero today.

Poem Artwork

Where do heroes go when they die?

Not the war heroes

Or the grid iron giants

Or baseball legends

Not the fireman

Or the cop

Or the teacher

Just a regular guy

With some wit

Some real wit

Cranky

Crotchety

Curmudgeony

Crassy

Yet classy

Opinionated to a fault

Everybody’s faults

Including his own

No boundaries safe

Except for decency

Simple truths

Complex problems

Exposed and solved in five minute increments

Every Sunday night

I’m at a loss for words now

So I’ll stop

It isn’t every day I have to wish a real hero a fond but sad farewell

Same here. The man invented the video tweet. He could say profound things in a few sentences. Gone home now.

An apt memorial for a regular guy. I too, feel the loss. However, one can only hope to be working at a job he loves until one is 92.

In his absence, I suggest you take his place as the Internet's humorous and curmudgeon. You certainly write well enough.

Old TV blogsters never die, they are just featured on YouTube forever.
