I finally retired last month and we relocated to southwest Missouri to our lakefront home. Took this photo of one of our local birdies flying over the deck: Photo:Patrick Granfors

Soaring with the eagles Turkey that I am Spurs are hanging on the wall From work I’m on the lamb Retired just a month ago To woods and winter’s chill A perfect tradeoff I must say I finally had my fill No more LA traffic jams No more screaming boss Just the gentle lapping of the waves On the shoreline straight across Oh the crunch of fallen leaves As I wander through the trees While I noodle on the day's events Doing exactly as I please Copyright 2014 Patrick A Granfors

Welcome to Retirement, Cuz - hope you enjoy it. I had planned on kicking back and watching the loons on my lakefront deck when I retired, but I still find myself out on the streets working - and now, I don't even get paid.
