Truth certainly is easily slanted by nonsense. But in certain areas, like science, repeated trials resulting in the same or consistent results, reveals truth that is very useful in everyday life.
But when you base truth on long held belief, the danger is that at some point a strong argument will come along and prove that ancient truth to be a lie.
I agree with Susan. The wolves cry so much that "The Boy that Cried, Wolf" does not seem to be a liar anymore. Now that's how insane society has become. It all starts with the leadership at the top. So Billy Boy cried out like a wolf, "I did not have SEX with that woman!" Since I now have more power than God, I will now tell you small folk the NEW definition of SEX! The insane part is, the crowd went wild and gave Billy Boy a free pass. Some moral fools thought to themselves, "Well kick me in the ass!" The legend of Billy and Hilly (Bonnie and Clyde) lives on!!!
I LOVE THE INTRODUCTION...A NONSENSE ABOUT WHAT IS TRUTH. ITS CATCHES THE ATTENTION OF ONE WHO MAY HAVE FELT CONFUSED ABOUT THEIR 'UNDERSTANDING' AS TO WHAT 'TRUTH' IS. IN THE BEGINNING OF OUR SEARCH FOR TRUTH, EVEN THOUGH WE WANT TO BELIEVE WITH ALL OUR HEART, MIND AND SOUL, IT'S NOT QUITE CLEAR WHAT IT REALLY IS AND TO THE NEW BELIEVER IT CAN BE, AS YOU SAY, OBSCURED BY THE TWISTS AND TURNS OF 'LIVING'. BUT IT IS THROUGH FAITH THAT WE ARE ABLE TO EMBRACE(SEE) REAL TRUTH,...THAT IS, 'THE ONLY TRUTH'...AND IT SETS US FREE, INDEED, AS HIS WORD SAYS. WHEN WE ARE ENLIGHTENED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD(COMFORTER, WHICH HE SENDS)WHICH LEADS US INTO ALL TRUTH, WE COME TO 'KNOW' HIS VOICE AND THUS, WE FOLLOW 'HIM' WHO IS, '... FULL OF GRACE AND TRUTH...' WE LEARN THAT 'ALL' TRUTH IS WRAPPED UP IN HIM AND WE ARE ENCOURAGED, THROUGH HIS WORD TO, 'DILIGENTLY SEEK HIM(TRUTH) FOR WE WILL BE REWARDED'.
