Why have the inhabitants of this earth changed so much? Why have we become so modern...so eager...to be 'twenty first century pawns'? Seems that the substantial, meaningful things...the once 'genuine' pillars of our society, such as integrity and honor, whose benefits were once distributed 'freely'...are now 'sold' to the highest bidders in this earth's marketplaces...that are laden with 'unbalanced' scales. Are we afraid to pick up the 'burden' of individuality? Do we lack the courage to speak up and say that...wrong is wrong and right is right? If not...then...why not?

Why not...mercy just...for mercy's sake ...and kindness from our hearts...not fake? Why not...love because of its worth...Calvary ...and empathy as a natural way...to be? Why not...compassion as our 'first' thought and fairness as our 'routine'...not bought? How do we 'mar' the beauty... the very created intent of this earth's...blessed bestowels? With choices and demands swayed by mood, pressuring for...signs that burn...with cajoles? Your lovely poem addresses an idea we would all like to have occur. I think your introductory paragraph hits the nail on the head. Our society has become corrupted by money, greed, drugs, and unconscionable behavior. Where does it all stop?
