Pride moves stealthy…silently but purposely – ‘knitting’ itself to us and we are not even aware of its presence until our actions have led us to destroy ourselves and others. We can come to the point where ‘our’ desire for our lives, far outweigh God’s desire for our lives. I am often reminded of the prophet Jeremiah whose greatest victory was his victory of ‘humility’. For he was never adhered to, loved or accepted by his people, whom God sent him to, but it didn’t matter…he did the will of God anyway. “Humility,” CS Lewis, the noted Christian author said, “is not thinking less of yourself. But thinking of yourself less." Thus, we pray...

  Keep me where I need to be-

hidden, Lord …in Thee

~~~
Take me out of self, O God
so that You can shine
remind me that abilities
are not my own…but Thine
Move me aside
that the world see only You
let every accolade and praise
ascend to whom its due
Suffocate ‘pride’
which within could rise
let selfish wants and needs
disintegrate and die
~~~

Jesus, please…

keep me where I need to be-

hidden, Lord …in Thee!

Pvb 16:18 & 29:23

His (agape) Love in us is the only way this can ever happen. "For Love is as strong as death, its jealousy as unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire; like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench Love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for Love, it would be utterly scorned." Song of Songs 8 6-7 NIV. A fine expression. Enjoyed... rlc

Stuff You Can Say Everyday by D. Mullis

My son wrote a book of his personal, one liner quotes. Never underestimate the power of simple statements! A very interesting read!
