There is so much abuse going on these days. Many, not knowing the Love of God and not having a heart of compassion, take advantage and abuse others. In this posting His Inspirations is zeroing-in on …The Abuse of the Elderly. In many cases, there are existing laws where the rights of the elderly are taken away, especially if they are unable to defend and speak up for themselves. Often it is not just one abuser and it’s sad, but it happens in-side of facilities and out. Thank God that many such cases are now being exposed more often than one would think. We can only hope that these poor, unfortunate, elderly are rescued and know the peace of God. Let’s keep them in our prayers. Amen

How many does it take… to try and make an aged one…quake? How many are needed to reduce a heart…free for years… into a mass of quivering flesh…controlled by leers? How did such evil oppressive goals formulate and arise to take the wings of those who desire only to peacefully fly… In their own simple way without a need to render… pleas to anyone…save God…their Only Defender? What is this wave…this unfair trolling demand to those so harmless…in many a…21^st century land? For, it seems most have lost the definition of…Love where cruelty is preferred than His Light from above How important is a beg from an old gray head who’s come thru-the-fire honoring…God Only…instead? This prideful quest to dissuade and force one to bend is like an angry mob attacking a cripple…without end *Sick* minds want expected results with …ego awards…given but amidst…self…back-slaps, should abusers get a ribbon? Unfortunately, in this world there are many elderly folks who are being abused daily either by their loved ones or by staff in an old folks home. This is wrong as we all going to get old one day! We must learn to be more compassionate and kind.

Thank you for writing this penetrating poem about the abuse of the elderly. Modern medicine is keeping people alive that would normally die of illnesses are now easily corrected or treated so that people reach advanced old age. Loved ones, in the mistaken thought that their elders could be better cared for in one of those beautiful homes that corporations display, are misled. The staff are very low paid and often very angry for the amount of work they're required to do. The elderly are unable, sometimes because they are drugged or sometimes, too intimidated, to speak out. I hope that I can stay in my home until I die. But good caregivers at what I can pay are hard to find. Young people these days, addicted to their cell phones, neglect duties while attending to them constantly.

What a truth you put forth here! I would rather walk to an "elephants bone yard" than to be put in a "home". I've witnessed abuse in such places and have reported them. Sad. That might be one of those workers someday! God bless the small and the elderly!! Great conscious awareness alert!!! God bless!!
