A wonderful indictment of our intentions. Yes, I am not perfect, just like everyone. I make mistakes, even when my intentions are good. And for the most part, my intentions are good. I judge people by how they act and not what they say or what others say about them. And I'm good at giving them a long rope to save themselves after their mistakes.

I've never been known to cast the first stone. But I have been known to challenge the caster of the first stone and call them out for what they are doing. I've had people tell me that it's courageous for me to do that. But I don't think it's ever courageous to do the right thing. And that's what I try to do with my life.

Jesus was kind to Mary Magdalene. There were some people known as Publicans and they though they were too good to mingle with the "sinners", who were Jesus followers. He came here to forgive the sinner of whom I am chief! Great write!!

This poem reminds me about what is happening with the impeachment of our president. If I wanted to be honest, I could not throw the first stone at him, even though he can be downright abrasive at times. I
must admit that I have not always been so perfect neither.

I recall my college years when 10 of us guys lived in a house and we had to get along somewhat in order to survive. If one or two decided to leave, the rent would literally go up through the roof! So my thoughts were that everyone has good trait and bad habits. I decided to focus on each person's good traits and ignore their bad habits because we all have our own! It worked and even today my old college friends have good things to say about our good times together.

We pay our leadership with our taxes. We expect them to just get along with each other, even when we have differences. But these leaders continue to point fingers at each other like a bunch of spoiled children. The continuous talk behind each others backs does more harm than good. If we are going to put anyone on trail it better be perfectly fair to all parties or else we might as well not have a trail at all. But this is NOT about who is right or wrong. This is about listening to my point of view or I will stone you and ruin your life forever. If this is how my college buddies got along we would have all packed up our bags lived somewhere else.

I still have friends who have completely opposite political views but we still get along. We tease each other, we make fun at one another but we do not throw stones. That's the difference. Thank you for this timeless Biblical lesson Joyce. Hopefully we all will learn from it. As sometimes not talking to each other and pouting behind closed doors can be just as bad as throwing a stone. Amen
