A Reminder of Her Life Sheltered from the sultry rays By a magnificent oak tree There sat a dying lady Reflecting upon the sweet. Trickling down her forehead A single bead of sweat Threatening her vision As she quietly wept. Don’t sweat the small stuff She’s known to be tough. A quick wipe of the hand Her one last stand. Maintaining her focus Beyond the sweetness of light Her crystal clear vision A reminder of her life. Deborah Ann Tornillo Copyright, 2011
