Just beautiful, Lynette. There is musicality in the phrasing, as well as in the words. It all fits together in a beautiful way. I especially liked the visual of the guitar/your neck arching. I could see the frets popping as I mind-saw the action. Then, when you say "the frets were misplaced", I was right in tune with you.
I am sure you know how well you write and your craft lacks nothing. This piece is beautiful in its own right. I wrote a piece called "Loves Guitar" here somewhere that describes that sensation also...love in the key of E.
The juxtapose you create in this is poignant and very effective. To live so long and be unloved, to be unrealized, to be unplayed, seems unconscionable. My Mother suffered much the same way. I've thought for so long that maybe our expectations far exceed what humanity is capable of. But then I'm convinced that if God loved us the way that we love each other we would all be vegetables. Your work of late is very touching Lynnie. Seems you are growing.
