"My dreams are like pearls.
I gave up all for one of great value."
This poem is about a Pearl of Great Value
but it is called: "Pearl of Great Price".
"Value" is what something is worth.
"Price" is what was paid for it.
The Price is the point of the poem.
(I did my best to make her dreams come true.)
"The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation."
Henry David Thoreau (Walden)
("The mass of men" = "Most men" | "Many people".)
Lives of Quiet Desperation
Giver and Taker are man and wife.
Giver and Taker are in love with each other.
Giver gives Taker everything they want.
Giver doesn't get much that they want.
Giver doesn't tell Taker how they feel.
Taker is completely oblivious.
Later in life, Giver begins to realize
that many of their dreams will never come true.
Giver recognizes that there isn't much time left.
Giver begins to wonder if Love is all that matters.
Mark Sebring (2024, Unlisted)
"Love is the one dream that matters."
Mark A. Sebring (L'Amour Compte Plus)
"Love is that condition in which
the happiness of another person is essential to your own."
Robert A. Heinlein (Stranger In A Strange Land)
"I saw a beggar leaning on his wooden crutch.
He said to me, 'You must not ask for so much.'
Then a pretty woman leaning in her darkened door.
She cried to me, 'Hey, why not ask for more?'"
Leonard Cohen (Bird On A Wire)
In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
