dear God i sit here thinking of this gift you gave
please let people read it feel it understand it
do not let this gift go wasted let it reach all
please make my words count and help those who need it
this is my prayer to God
when people dont understand what i say give me patience
when they dont like what i write give me understanding
show me the way i should be going never let me stray
let me see her through her eyes so i know what to write
this is my prayer to God
as i grow with your wisdom let me be the best i can
through all your guidance show me how to love
show me how to teach what i learn and feel
and i beg that i may always remain humble

i ask these of you to keep me going the best way so
i may never willingly betray anyones trust
