i am the shadow that haunts your every night
there is no peace when i am around
the nights become long and endless
you can find no place to hide from me

do you say begone when you know it is deaf
that shadows persist when you want them gone
you dont dare let your fears be known

so you try to hide it knowing there is no place
the shadow can creep into all crevices to find fear

waiting till you least expect it then its there
