"NOT MY EYES"
~~~~*~~~~
I see! said the blind man
To the Deaf woman
Who wasn’t there
As he walked passed
A naked lass flashed him.
Well George!
Thank God that wasn’t you
But I must say
You’ve
Become quite popular
With all the lovely ladies
At Our Den
Whom desire you read their
Beautiful mysterious eyes
To me you are
one of the most
Respected Poets here
At our Den
I wish to commission you
Not to read my lips
As old Bush used to say
Nor to read my eyes.
Brother Georg!
If only your eyes have seen
What mine have
That’s why I am wearing
These dark glasses.
I am afraid
Of what your eyes might see
within mine,
So my commission to you
Will be Benign.
I want you
To focus your attention
And read the Lumps
On my head,
Feel, within your imagination
The scars, the dents
Try to imagine
Where they originated from
As well as those
On my warp arthritic
Knuckles
And answer one question.
Do you think I obtained them
From Eating doughnuts
As those idiots in Hollywood
Are constantly portraying
Police Officers
Impressing that image
To the gullible audience?
Peace be with you Brother
I believe the lumps on your head are from knowledge that your brain has put in storage. If anyone should believe a policeman eats doughnuts all the time, let me tell them here in Warner Robins, GA, that five yrs ago three doughnut shops went out of business, no policemen eating doughnuts here. Safest little town in Middle GA. A great place to live and grow up because wonderful policemen like you are doing their jobs. We now have a Dunkin Do'Nuts out on the west edge of town, never a police car near it. But, I love the Bavarian Cream filled doughnuts. Yum.
You are a hero, William! Movieland needs to get their collective craniums out of their collective fece emitter.
Love,
annie
Beautifully poetic thoughts I don't believe
Your Lumps on your head where acquired from
Eating doughnuts that I'm positive!
But Yes many times we used that term
And also flatfoot or Oh his just a rookie
But in our hearts we know that becaouse of
Great police officer like yourself
We can sleep at night!
I know George will definitely read it!
Love Peace and many hugssss....Morning Star
Your bumps, lumps and bruises are a testament of being a good police officer. Somehow I read Georg's poem about you before I read this. I think he captured you to a "T." I think you captured the heart of all noble police officers.
To you and the others in 'blue' - I say "Thank you." Tragically, hollywood seems to capture and spread ugly lies of your profession.
Ah William Police Officers are real men, most of them and worthy of our admiration and appreciation. Man of mystery behind those dark glasses!
Phyllis xOx -- N: Have to confess that I recently referred to police and doughnuts in the same breath. . .'k, poem. "Guilty as charged!" Not in the habit, but that doesn't excuse. . .sorry! (Poem in question so surreal, I doubt anyone reads to the end. . .far less, understands. Do get carried away. Maybe I can get my mouthpiece to talk my Muse into
testifying on my behalf. As if she would. . .'nuffa ISS. GREAT POEM!!
D'Artagnan, you have thrown a very educate challenge on the sands in front of me by hiding your eyes, then, to soften your glove's hit as for me to find all about the clumps on your head, perhaps I could give you one more.
I am truly honored that you can think of me in superlatives, but most honored of all, that you consider me a brother.
Thanks
Georg
