I Still Love Her

I still love her
~~~~~~*~~~~~~

I still love her
Will till the day
I die
She's softer and tender
Then ever before
Works harder
Keeping up
With her tenacious pace.

Her beauty is still there
Hidden 'neath her graying
And slow walk
Within my eyes
Heart and soul
She dwells.

Been together
Half a century plus
No woman can hold a candle
To the one I truly love.

At times I hear her voice
Calling my name
From another place
When I respond
She Denies calling me
Or was it me that just
Wanted to hear her voice.

Love starts out as a roaring fire, and then becomes a bed of embers, the hottest part of love. Beautiful write.
