Very sad in this country to have so many homeless.
When we give millions to foreign countries in aid,
without taking care of Americans first, very sad.
If Hollyweird paid much attention to our homeless
poor children live sleep die in streets 7 storm drains
as they do ( THEMSELVES $ ) celebrities --
There'd be no homeless..
Had a friend take me to a stand up comedy place and while there Jamie Fox, who I think is who you are talking about, was welcomed on stage just because he was in the audience & from the front table my friend & I stood up & walked out the doors...boy did he make a stink about that as we told the clubs owner why we did it & as I hear it, the owner went back on stage and thanked him but asked him to leave the club...don't ya wish you were a fly on the inside window of his car on his way back to his motel...LOL, :) -e-

William, I don't think all of "Hollywood," is in the catacory you put them in...
Makes me recall the days when the righteous senator from my state, Joe McCarthy, declared most of Hollywood as a hotbed of communists and communist sympathizers. He was especially hateful towards Jews and intellectual writers. Ruined many lives and careers for no good reason other than his twisted ideology.
The current populist movement with simplistic "solutions" to major societal problems is now offended when their Hollywood heroes do not behave in a manner expected of them. Why even the former Republican governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is misbehaving. At least Clint Eastwood is behaving right; especially when he produces and stars in movies like Gran Torino. Have you seen it?
The actors you mentioned certainly live in an insecure, job to job, paycheck to paycheck, environment that those who serve in "ordinary" jobs with some security if one does not "rock the boat" do. Wealth and fame can come and go in a heartbeat.
But today, actors like this often do their work on site and have ample time to mix with the local people in those sites. They also travel a great deal giving them a perspective on our world that those in the raise a family, hold down a job, lifestyle never get except through their family and friends network, lately enhanced and radicalized by media like Facebook and talk radio.
When actors have a surplus of money, they look to charities like all rich people to reduce their taxes. It is in doing these good works that they learn about societal problems and how to face them. Because of their acting ability and practice, as well as their fame, actors make good spokespersons for causes.
Let me ask you this. Would you stick your neck out for fallen police officer wives and children? Or are you just sitting content in your retirement to bitch on the sidelines?
