Close Your Eyes Not
So, I may always see
The heavenly stars shinning
Within.

Allow me to witness
My reflection
There still in your beautiful
Dark mysterious eyes.

Close Your Eyes Not
So, we can still dream
Of gracious days
In our yesteryears.

When we walked holding hands
In those Golden lanes
Of Elysium
Covered with flowers wild
Where the Perfumed scent
Blessed each silent sigh
We exhaled.

Close Your Eyes Not
As my lips slowly reach
For the sweet Nectars
Of Ambrosia
Laced upon the softness
Of Your Passionate lips.

Nice imagery William. It's interesting you chose Elysium. (Greek mythology) Nearly every religion or mythology has a paradise which promises everlasting rewards if its followers obey the rules. Gan Eden (Judaism). Folkvanger. (Norse Mythology) Tir Na Nog. (Irish Mythology) Heaven (Christianity) Etc. Thanx 4 sharing. rlc

Wow! Such a powerful poem. And what a great place to find
such glorious inspiration--in a woman's eyes. Oh yes, the ayes have it.

A fantasy few have actually experienced. If you have, more power to you. Good to see you back writing in your amorous groove.

Bonjour William Bonilla ! If only ALL (former or present) police officers (all over the world) wrote poetry... on second thoughts - if only 1% did (like you or not), what a world this would look like on TV.

Thanks very much for your comments.

Newt time I see an American gent or lady, I'm going to ask him or her if s/he was from The NYPD before asking them to produce their papers in lieu of reciting lines from William Bonilla or the other way round.
