This was written back in September 2005.
I'm in my poetry attic tonight.

Poem Artwork

In the saddest way possible...
I admit to loving you

It is fated to die
Nothing lives without nourishment

Without rain a flower folds
...the petals drop

A Rose fades when fate looms
Without anything good

There is no will to live
Gone is life's small details

Love is dying now
As the petals of a faded Rose

Curl towards the heaven
Life's nourishment is gone

It's will to bloom depleted.

~sigh~

Beauty flourishes but a moment in time. Death is inevitable. The trick is to capture beauty as it passes.

Some things are almost impossible to capture in words, for few only to read and understand. They don't reflect parts of the past that were kind to us, but like anything else they make us who we are, prepare us for futures ahead in which we - different from those who did not go through such events - will exist cherishing different aims that we will try to reach in different ways. The unkind places and times in all our lives will ultimately lead to one destiny that has nothing to do with brutality, indifference or fear.

Yes, a rose is a rose, even if a dying one without nourishment. Your words say it so well; tender, softly but surely. This one is a verbal treat... with an overripe cherry on the bottom! - Bill

Do you ever preserve roses
just let them dry
to a soft brown color
the shape stays the same, but the scent is gone
I do this..........I find them beautiful, yet sad soulveniers..
