Memory's path worn and trodden
Evaporated pains rise quickly
Echoed tears awash, forgotten
Roll in distant years so thickly

Like a hum in ill refrain
Tears chase sorrow...
Comes again.

Lonely, distant memories
Send the good times back to me
Take away all my sorrow
Return my faith with good tomorrows

Like a hum in ill refrain
Tears chase sorrow
Comes again.

Heirloomed pieces shattered, gone
Memories spin a vortex home
Broken crosses, hearts afire
Tweeks a twinge with hard desires

Like a hum-echoed refrain
Tears and sorrows...
Rise again

Blinded visuals choke decay
Ashes still awake each day
Love awash in a past gone sour
Wakens sorrow on the hour

Like a hum in ill refrain
Tears chase sorrow
Comes again

Ebbing woes of rusted years
Come alive in endless tears
Abundantly...this fated song
Never really did belong

Like a hum in ill refrain
Tears chase sorrow
Comes again.

This season brings so many memories back to us -some glorious -some inevitably connected to our deepest sorrows. Yes,
"Like a hum in ill refrain
Tears chase sorrow
Comes again."
Written with a heavy heart by a gifted hand.

Like the image, this ne is obscure. However, its cadence get to you like and old song and tugs the heartstrngs down.

What is it about the Holidays?
Brings out the best
Exposes the worst
A poets curse
Or how he/she gets in touch with the universe?

"Like a hum in ill refrain" I love this line. Life and Love are both
so sad and yet so glorious. This time of year the memories always come flooding in. "Ebbing woes of rusted years come alive in endless tears abundantly...this fated song Never really did belong" I can so relate to this I know I'm different too. What a great write really
enjoyed it. Love Pierre.

TEARS CHASE SORROW evokes surge after surge of dreamy melancholy and poignant remembrance. A poem with which to sit down, pour a fresh cup of tea, and unapologetically indulge oneself.

Ebbing woes of rusted years
Come alive in endless tears

I feel this line. Corroded years oiled and released by tears from which to extract the good parts and live them as they should be lived.

Another Chorus from the wing
Tears are not what love should bring
Lovely lady heart so pure
I'll kiss away your tears for sure!

Lovely write and one I can almost hear being written into a ballad and song soft and low to an acoustic guitar and mandolin strings
Sweet... Susan
