This poem was written when I was in my "Immortal Twenty's". I edited it for Author's Den as the pure innocence of the words then show my maturity made me mortal today

Poem Artwork

I love you more than banana pudding...than fresh juicy raspberries...cool clean celery...peanut butter and jelly...chocolate covered strawberries...a 'dayum' good raise with perks...a snow capped mountain...the vee of ocean birds...the warm sun of the first day of spring and the chance to sleep late...

I love you more than real cream for my coffee...the cool tide around my ankles and even the tickle as the tide turns the sand to mush under my feet and the feel of sinking when the sand washes away...a new shell in the early morning...a clean beach before the others get there...

I love you more than a flock of Guinea Hens calling in a valley...the cool mountain air when the chill complains for hot cocoa or tea...the moist moss growing next to a creek...the smell of fresh mud and the wonderful things that move under a rock...

I love you more than a lazy afternoon in a chaise...sun on my face and a good book...a field of sunflowers waving in the sunset and the small group of tiny lavender butterflies that collect like fairies on a dirt mountain road...

I love you more than stars and moons...the shooting galaxies...the gold of the Gibbis moon...the fall when leaves are painted by elves at night...the waterfall that roars from a distance then cries when you're up close...

I love you more than rocking on a porch perched high on a mountain with the birds circling below...the oceans of colors and moving wonders...the first catch of a Rainbow trout when the season opens...

I love you more than all the mysteries of our earth and the rain that soothes after a humid afternoon...and the rough tongue of a new puppy licking my cheeks...I love you.

For Andy Turner...

You are special and you sure know how to give a review even if it is all in fun. Of course I support you in all you do and I believe in you...even if you're half a world away. I declare Andy...you are the kidder here at the Den. Be happy that I don't take you serious for if I did....well England would have a new queen.
Cheers,
Susan

Love the last stanza, I know what you were going to say...

I love andy the best of all, because Your undying faith is what keeps the flame out of love alive

You and me together, we can make magic.

We're a perfect match.

Thinking of you, fills me with a wonderful feeling.

Your love gives me the feeling, that the best is still ahead.

You never give up on me, and that's what keeps me going.

You are simply irresistible

I love you because you bring the best out of me.

Your terrific sense of humor

Everytime I look at you, my heart misses a beat

You're the one who holds the key to my heart

You always say what I need to hear (You are perfect).

You have taught me the true meaning of love.

Love is, what you mean to me - and you mean everything.

You are my theme for a dream.

I have had the time of my life and I owe it all to you.

When I look into your eyes, I can see your heart.

Your love for me is a natural anti-depressant.

I love to hear your voice.

Your love has helped me to rediscover myself.

Your love is an effective anti-dote to despair.

I love to wake up with you by my side...It makes my days better.

You always make me feel that you are by my side no matter what.

I love that feeling of being secure when you wrap your arms around me.

I love the way you keep your cool when I do something stupid.

Just being with you feels like I can defy the whole world.

You mean the world to me.

I like your small gestures that speak volumes about how much you care.

I love the way you treasure the gifts that I gave you.

I love the way you patch up with me after a tumultuous fight.

And, of-course, your intelligence.

I just knew it...lol

Yes, have to agree this is absolutely delightful: pure and unadulterated youthful verve and passion - but STILL with that wonderful experiential observation that we know that you own. Such energy and drive here, Susan. Life lives and moves through you and your words and experiences. And, go on... do tell... "I love you"... Do you STILL??? Even after all this time and all these comparisons... or has the banana pudding won the day?! :)) Love, Kate xx

Now, that I've read every line, and hear what all of your fans have said about it, I add: I love your poem more than any and all of them, because it is you...
all the way through. This is good work from a lovely transparent poet. - Bill

I dearly love how you have captured all the best that life has to offer and by doing so makes the reader want to also either re-experience all the beauty this world has to offer or experience those things for the first time. This is what great writing should do...make the reader taste, smell feel and crave what the authour has committed to paper.
