Why I Write
~
I write to capture breathtaking sunsets,
to hear the waves crash along the shore
to paint the glorious blue horizon,
hear blue jays chirp unlike before
~
To see majestic oaks in the forest,
and hillsides dotted with flowers
to see kitty sleeping on your chest
and dales covered with clovers
~
To feel true love and romance,
I’ve heard it said somewhere
you must give it a decent chance
fools rush in, take your time, beware
~
I write about the way he makes me feel,
and the loving way he looks at me
have been together so long it’s no big deal
we are content as we can be
~
To see everything in a new light,
this is why I write
