REST YOU SOLDIERS

Rest you soldiers; their hearts are brave,
You died for a cause you tried to save.

Your guns are silent; the roaring past,
Trampled ground is now green grass.

Mangled men with horrid cries,
Now rest beneath the clear-blue skies.

Dogwoods blossom with each new Spring,
A sight back then seldom seen.

Rest you soldiers ; your day is done,
Your glory will live on with each rising sun.

A tribute to those Union and Confederate Soldiers who gave of themselves during a turbulent time in American History. Lest they not be forgotten!
