Poem Artwork
WHITE THRONE

“I will make boys their officials;
Mere children will govern them.
People will oppress each other
Man against man, neighbor against neighbor
The young will rise up against the old
The base against the honorable”
ISAIAH 3: 4&5
----------------------------------------

I have seen your arrogant handi-work for millennia,
The relentless molding of souls fashioning templates,
Embracing those willing to suffocate in the shallow ponds
Of conceit and lies; those empathic soothing weaknesses,
Mesmerizing with equitable grandeur,
Verbs of opposing elements; conjugated as
Shifted sands, sifted through screens of lunacy…
Across the ages
You have wooed those willing
With a venomous elixir of ignominy,
As the gangrene of your making gratifies the
Mortal longing for worship and adoration

Your ways, Caesar Nero,
A purveyor of fulsome ruse, engorged,
Arrogant, diseased, sadistic insanity in all dark
Caves of reasoning; you led those deluded into brutality,
Promising paradise; you provoked the savage mob mentality
To celestial levels of wanton blood and death as a means to incite
Intolerance and hatred against new believers

You delighted in genocide - the wiping away of life -
But, for your monstrous actions, a disaster of epic proportions
Swept through the edifices of mighty Rome; burning and destroying
Those things held sacred; those things conjured from the mind of man …
Sadly, the will and heart of the Roman citizen was lessened, and you,
Caesar Nero, were forever branded a type and shadow

Your ways,
Ahab, son of Omri,
Elevating evil to new heights,
Doing more to provoke the Lord than all those before you;
Worshipping Baal and constructing the Asherah pole
Those inimitable contrivances,
Blaspheming and trivializing all that was holy
In a defiant epoch of amorphous self, crossing the
Astrophysical black to fornicate with the Phoenician princess
Bent on tyranny and idolatry…
Oh, Jezebel,
Goddess of all that is unholy,
Thy progeny hath scorned He who is LIGHT,
Profaning in thy quest to subjugate all who worship
At the feet of your deceit … I have seen your ways, (Lucifer)
How you have fallen from heaven… You envisioned

Raising [your] throne above
The stars of the Almighty, saying:
“(I will) sit enthroned on the mount of assembly,
On the utmost heights of the sacred mountain, (I will) ascend
Above the tops of the clouds, (I will) make myself like the “Most High”
But you are brought down to the grave, to the depths of the pit
A rebellious archangel inciting a
Coup d’état which cast down one third of heavens
Angelic minions to seduce and torment those willing to worship
At the throne of your detestation … Those who see you stare at you,
They ponder your loutish fate: “Is this the man who shook the earth and
Made kingdoms tremble; the man who made the world a desert; who
Overthrew its cities and would not let his captives go home?”

Humanity has suffered your handi-work for millennia
In the machinations of unending self, blaspheming the Most High
In tainted wisdom and justice, those masses – salaciously sucking
The tit of deception - embracing pride as a means to self deity,
Denigrating He who is Holy - with all loathful ponderings -
And those who appear as a mist momentarily

Tell the righteous it will be well with them, - for they will
Enjoy the fruit of their deeds - looking upon the dead bodies
Of those who rebelled against the Lord. - Their worm will not die
Nor will their fire be quenched - they will be loathsome to all mankind
When those blasphemers have been judged - by the MOST HIGH –
At the WHITE THRONE

RESOUNDING, FOREBODING, FILLED WITH TRUTH MESSAGE, TO THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO TURN DEAF EARS TO THE EVER PRESENT VOICE AND SPIRIT OF GOD. IF THIS DOESN'T DETOUR THE EVILNESS AND THE WICKED OF THE LOST ...NOTHING WILL. I HOPE AND PRAY IT DOES TOUCH THE HEART OF THE 'BLIND' WHO ARE LED TO READ IT, BUT THEN...I AM REMINDED OF LUKE 16:19-31. I APPLAUD THIS FINE 'MIDNIGHT CRY'. THANK YOU FOR SHARING, MY FRIEND. There are some elements of biblical proportions that make sense, even to to a secularist such as myself. Well done.

The outrage expressed in your poem is biblical in proportion, vying with some of the best of this genre. Unfortunately, I find it to be a little bit too biblical for my blood.

I've had the same dream
But never with the power and the clarity of your words.
A magnificent composition!
