This happened in my family to my mother who refused to take help for my two nephews and brother who wouldn't work and abused drugs. She sheltered them in her home. I tried but my mother fought all my efforts. My sister who is the mother of my nephews would never tell the truth about her sons who were using and abusing my mother. Now after 20 years the truth comes out. My mother lost her home, my brother and nephews have to be men. One of my nephews is strung out on drugs, sleeping in his car. Finally he had to go get help anyway. It's too late for my mother, she almost lost her mind. Hope this helps someone out there with this type problem. The peace I have now is appreciated but sadly thought about.
You can run, hide and deny, the good days will pass you by. What you should have done, becomes the bring down gun. Sooner or later, stupidity becomes the dictator.
Responsible ones who tried to help, their wisdom you should have kept. Now you lay in a nursing home, with complete failure as your dome. Those no goods you sheltered, are now broken and weltered.
The episode has come to an end, but I'm still your son and friend. The fact that I was right, is a sore in my own sight. I have never wanted to be more wrong, at least I stayed strong.

powerful and much needed message. Being a prisoner of our own device called love. This is painful and i hope it shines to those not seeing or denying it. Niley:)
i understand, i have had the same thoughts about wanting to take my daughter in and shelter her but if she won't give up the drugs, i would bring myself down with her and i can't allow that to happen. but the urge will never go away, i want to know where she sleeps at night and if she has enough to eat...it kills me not knowing

As a mother myself, I can understand the depth of love your mother had for her children and grandchildren... She gave and gave until there was nothing left to give or keep for herself. After losing all she had in the physical world and investing all she had within herself, her children still succumbed to the evils of addiction. Now is the time she needs all the real and true friends she can get. That's where you come in.

The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
