It is not that I will ever be.. More than I am... Dreams flow away.. Like sands in a desert storm.... Scattered tiny bits of dreams.. that can never be one again. Because that is the way God intended it.. The way he wants it to be.. Trying to lead us.. To his demand.. . I will never save all the homeless.. Nor protect every abused child.. I will never be a great writer.. A poet.. A worthy soul.. I am just one struggling spirit.. Trying to figure out .. Where am I to go? Don't quite know what to dream these days.. I am not the perfect parent.. Although I try to be.. I will never be the great anything.. as far I can see.. I know that life is lessons.. Many I cannot stand. Just wish I had a rainbow.. A dream.. I could achieve.. Wish I had something.. a dream I could believe. And when my time is ending.. I will wonder what I did with my life.. I know what God has planned.. Is probably not my desires.. So I guess I am helpless.. In many ways.. We may all have goals... But God made the roads we travel.. He knows each and every curve.. I know we all have choices.. but lets face it.. You can want to be something with all your heart.. You can work at it Strive for it.. It doesn't make it a reality.. You still have limits.. Physical obstacles.. Emotional Hills.. Psychological valleys.. Societies ocean.. Many set by God.. Yet I hold on to my yellow balloon of hope.. Praying it will help me over these obstacles.. But I always seem to fall... Now with this I wonder.. Why bother at all.

Somedays I wonder too and then I see a child smile or laugh and suddenly it all makes sense :-)
What a heartfelt and sad write, Erica! I, too, at some point in my life had encounter these feelings; but I know you and read you poetry and I also note that you have a lot of inner strength; and this inner strength you have is a gift from God. You are a strong lady, and you will remain so. Hope these feelings will pass soon.

This is the exact dilemma I'm currently going through. I am desparately trying to figure out which path the Lord wants me to take. I think it's one and then there are so many obstacles put in my way, that I realize that that may not be the path He wants me to travel. So, I start down another, hoping this is the one He wants. I'll know when it's right, though, b/c it will be smooth sailing and everything will fall into place. It's just very frustrating trying to figure it all. Patience is not my best virtue. But, He must know that, b/c He's testing it at every turn. I guess it must be His way of making me learn patience. I don't know. God Bless. Debbie
