Dr. Osman's paintings are meaningful and you added value to them by combining them with beautiful verses about the confusion faced by many immigrant children. In fact, it is not only children who get confused. Adults face problems as well. I am considered to be educated in my community and I work with big organizations like the American Red Cross as a Health and Safety Instructor and TBR as an Admissions Coordinator. Yet I face many obstacles, cultural barriers and linguistic inefficiencies. For instance, I know the name of almost any tree in Somalia but the only tree in Ohio that I know is the Buckeye tree! One's natural habitat is the best place to live in.

Pain, sorrow, confusion

The problem of abandoning your land and relocating to anothere with a different culture, religion, family ways, customs, tradition will be a shock to anybody. The trick is to assimilate and integrate without losing the ourself, because if it is gone, you will be not the former nor the now, just a human being without identity.
