I don’t mean to interrupt your busy life but I just wanted to let you know I am still thinking of you. I hope you will take the time to let me know, in no uncertain terms, that you are thinking of me too…always. And if it’s not me, who is in your thoughts when you first wake up, when you go to sleep, or when you don’t even realize it’s me you are thinking of until you wonder why you are smiling to yourself; and if it’s not me, that makes you say you want to share all there is to share, as long as you can share it with me; and if it’s not me, that makes your heart weep and laugh simultaneously - then let me go. Send me off to search for a sparkling second in the corner of your mind where you might one day look for me to embrace your thoughts again.

These words portray a very lonely situation, where the one in question may be as cruel to themselves as the neglecting partner. One thing is for sure, we can't make somebody else love us..but we can love ourselves..without question, without guilt or without having to search for ways to make it happen.
We only have to look in the mirror, and know that the one looking back..looks through a compassionate heart and soul. I've no doubt that you have both of those...
Sara, a very deeply heartfelt well-penned outpouring of emotional sentiments. This reminds me of the old saying, “if you set it free and it returns, it’s yours forever.” Or my favorite one is, “if you set it free and it doesn’t return, hunt it down and kill it”… lol. Sadly in our lives, letting go is often about all we can do.
