Poem Artwork

Another exhausting week finally culminates
in the now familiar red-eye home.
But home is one direction I never hesitate to take.
For therein waits my pot of gold.
Lined with blue skies and iridescent water;
tickled by cypress, oaks and palms along its border.
Floating high and low in the sky
my manic osprey plays.
I can’t imagine a finer place
to casually sit with tea and meditate.
Where nature’s water gets roughened up
along my windy lake.
Where cats can squawk over an endless race
of tag, now let’s take chase.
Where it seems as though every living thing
offers delight, by waddling, slithering or gliding by.
And then there is THE DOG! Ever vigilant by my side;
my true amour for life.
So even though the weeks upon weeks seem harsh,
my home…my sanctuary…
is a place filled with all of life’s good grace.

Okay, to add to this story, in case anyone is still reading. Shortly after I posted this I decided to go watch TV in bed. Where I learned that the Pope has passed on. I watched the news for a few minutes. Then turned of the TV. Closed my eyes and woke up at 8:45 in the evening. But only because one of the cats decided it was way past his feeding time. LOL...damn Sparky. I could have slept through the night. ~ Sara

A wonderful poem Sara! Good to read of those things that bring
pleasure, which are real and well earned, through hard work!
