better to embrace who we are than fret over finding the perfect escape route

Poem Artwork

my eyes are worn
gritty to be precise
tired of trying to see
tired of looking for everything
sleep is no solution
dreams no escape
so let me rest
let all things leave me
just let me be

Wise words.

Yes, sanity lies in embracing the now, not in wasting the vanishing hours grasping at escape ... therein lies inner peace. Chasing the "inner pieces" is an illusion ... "progress, not perfection," as the saying goes.

Thanks for this. You inspire me.

One who doesn't hold hopes and dreams
is a poorest soul on earth.
Hopes and dreams hold hands-in-hands in our lives,

it's the gateway to our future.

oh my dear sara, can i identify with the emotional sentiment of this poem. and whether you're being 'cheeky' or not..sometimes one just gets plain freaking TIRED!
hope you're feeling perky and ..oh what the hell..have some tongue for me (frankly i like it with a bit of horseradish on a kaizer!)
hugs and love always
hope you have a spectacular holiday.

Well, it seems you are going against the old adage, "Follow Your Dream" with this one. I question the wisdom of your graphic, but I love you poem, it in itself is doesn't forgore the chasing of dreams, only the weariness of the constant grind of life itself.
