Slowly slipping you off
like a wetsuit in the desert.
It burns me that you know
I still need you.
That you know
I still love you.
That I know
you are there if I pay my dues.
But what is that?
Some sort of modern day prostitution?
Please!
Get out of me.
Now!
Love can’t lie
it can only delude.
So go lube some other broad
or better yet, some dude.
Just go, go away.
Let me remember what is good about love.
Who knows
there might be a next time
for love and me to find each other.
And when/if it does --
it would be better
if it finds me in the nude.
