Poem Artwork

Sometimes,

I think I’d like to be

a little mouse,

so I could fit

into your shirt pocket.

You’d carry me

everywhere.

I'd be happy

curled up

next to your chest;

listening to the hypnotic beat

of your heart;

feeling your warmth engulfing me.

And when you wanted to see me,

feel me,

you’d take me out

and stroke my soft fur.

At night when you slept

I’d rest in the corner

by your pillow,

watching over you

with one eye closed.

And we’d be happy,

not being of the same kind,

but loving in a funny

symbiotic way.

A man and his little mouse.

Sometimes,

that’s what I’d like to be.

You've come up with an amazing and different slant. Tops in imagery and compassion for lvoing. Better check in with your man, however, since this new arrangement might be okay for not moree than a few nights a week. I like what you've done here.
