I want to be the girl you rush home to see
who fills your thoughts with want of love
and distracts you from the daily dross

Or who can take away the peril of fear
by filling voids with strength and peace

I want to be the girl who insulates your heart
from suffocating obligation and just maybe
turn broken dreams into realistic hope

And I want the minutia of life--
like wiping away dirt from your brow,
and reveling in the sweat you’ve earned.

Or to build a ship right next to yours
and then mutiny my bounty
after sailing every sea.

How can I say this without sounding dumb?
(Have I already, I don’t know?)

I want to nestle into your love
and be the girl you need of me
because my love for you, is...me.
