CHAZ

I've always been an animal lover but I'm sure Chaz could have even won over the most hard hearted with just a look into his beautiful liquid brown eyes.

CHAZ
 
Chas is a beautiful dog
who lives next door.
I always thought a one-man dog
was just a bit of lore.
 
 Chaz truly loves his owner,
they really are best friends.
He cries when his friend leaves him
as if his world is coming to an end.
 
One day as I worked at my desk,
I heard such mournful cries,
I peeked out my office window
straight into Chaz's sad eyes.
 
I flew to my door
and wrapped him in my arms.
Then I brought him inside.
Could there really be any harm?
 
My sweetie warned of my mistake,
said Chaz would be always at our door.
Sure enough each time his owner left
he headed our way, looking awfully poor.
 
He would never stay long,
always ready to go back home.
As soon as he heard his owner's truck
he was ready to resume his roam.
 
Chaz is truly a one-man dog,
ever faithful to his master
and when the master returns
he couldn't leave us any faster.

Talk about a "DOGS LIFE" - Would that we all could have this much love flowing our way, but then again, I'd probably get in trouble if every time my "master" left me alone I slipped over to the neighbor lady. Good one girl.

Cute poem. It is hard for me to call a dog an animal but, they are not humans although they have more personality than some humans and they are almost always cute and so hard to resist cuddling. Great poem.
