Poem Artwork

O, My God! If I were you,
I would have kissed me
with the kisses of death
for I no longer yearn
to breathe
in the monstrous land
enclosed within
the narrow stem
of the feudal certainties
erected by a false shimmer
of the social hierarchy
as the huge ferns that sprout
momentarily from the damp
before tiny death’s inexorable decree.

Stunning. . .both for its intensity and the sad and horrifying
truth that you have done such a magnificent job of putting on display. Were the poem one word longer, it would spoil the effect. Who was it said that knowing when the stop is the mark of a true
artist? You have met the challenge!! Love, Hope, and Peace,

a deeply moving poem where despair seems to be the only option ...

Often it is the fastest flourishing that are cut down quickest, or fade quickly leaving but a fleeting legacy. Would that long-term and considered resolutions might be found to overthrow the faction mentality. Such tragedy when peoples and nations with such inner beauty and grace become prey to warring minorities who operate their own tyrannies in the name of freedom. This is deeply moving and of the nature of an epic lament. I adore your classical use of language and the ease with which you operate such a rhetorical and gracious flow. Psalmic in its qualities, Bhuwan. Bless you and keep standing for all you believe to be right. Your spirit will prevail. LOL and prayers, Kate xx

You speak truth Bhuwan, but please don't despair!
Take heart,a time will come when all will be resolved.

Death is not an end in and of itself; life is found on the other side of the coin. But that can be little consolation to those who suffer. The world should feel shame that such suffering is permitted to continue.

A powerful poem from deep within. Very sad but it is the way the world is.
