My first Halloween poem of the season.
*******************

Poem Artwork

Something rode him hard--
crawled across the yard—
hand upon his head
wishing he were dead.
Something rode him hard.
Something whipped him mean.
left pools red on green.
Sold his soul, teeth gnash
causing him whiplash.
Something rode him hard.
Something whipped him mean.
Something laughed with glee …
sinister … a she.
Perspiration, sweat,
rivers all around
made him nearly drown.
Something rode him hard.
Something whipped him mean.
Something laughed with glee.
Something stole the light.
Day turned frightful night.
Hot, burnt by desire,
flames burst, he’s on fire.
Something rode him hard.
Something whipped him mean.
Something laughed with glee.
Something stole the light.
Something made her turn.
Seeking more to burn
mounts another steed
filled with anger, greed.
Something rode him hard.
Something whipped him mean.
Something laughed with glee.
Something stole the light.
Something made her turn.

Monsters for souls yearn.
