Crown of Thorns
Unlike boxthorn it grows on a vine
growing on different angles
like wooden barbed wire
unmerciful to become entangled in
or to have made into a mock crown
only to be rammed into the skull
embedding itself deep into the cranium
tearing flesh and nerves sinew and muscle
causing copius amounts of blood letting
head throbbing, till paralysis numbs the face..
Imagine the agony of this just for a minute...
Then think about how a rod was used to
smack it further into the wearers skull
whose face had already been beaten
till it resmembled that of mangled lamb
urecognizable to anyone who knew not
the wearer of this heinous device
heartwrenching to those who did
such as his mother, and his followers
all those whom HE had healed
from their afflictions, sorrows and even death!
He did this, He allowed this, He suffered this and far more..
So next time we fall headlong into a boxthorn hedge, or a briar bush, or even take a splinter into our finger, or step on a barb, remember how it throbs, stings then magnify it 100%
Lest we forget!

Exceptional work!...Eileen
I was 5 years old the first time I saw a film of how they crucified Jesus The Christ - at church, in Sunday School, with our youth pastor.
When they put the crown of thorns on Him, I stood up and shouted at the top of my lungs, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! HE'S INNOCENT!
Praise God for you, Ch'erie, and this immeasurable Work of Love to our LORD and Saviour. I will treasure it.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
Into my library this goes. Again, thank you.
You've very powerfully accomplished your mission, Ch'erie.
Very descriptive and powerful expression of the suffering and agony of Our Blessed Lord
No man has, or ever will suffer again like he did, when he died for our sins on the Cross at Cavalry.
Blessings

My brother wept (as did many of us) when he watched The Passion film. He had been hostile to my faith for years until this point. I asked why he cried. 'Because of what they did to Him,' he replied. I could have been insensitive and responded 'But you don't believe!' Instead I simply referred him to Isaiah, adding that the film depiction did not go far enough. Christ's visage was disfigure beyond human recognistion.
This is indeed what the crown of thorns did, lest we forget, but not only that, lest we neglect the faith
