 Old Cardigans Vs Silken Cloaks

Nestled amid the fine weave
of the flowing, aromic, silken cloak
within a shroud of mystery
yet reliable warmth ensues
unabrasive texture
flowing, ever replenishing
as the rivers onward to the sea,

periodically, though
unconciously ignorant
donning a scratchy old cardigan
put aside many a yesteryear
shrunken, faux woollen weave
seemingly comfortable
yet moldy, itchy, outgrown.

Many challenges present
within a world of change

We wonder, if the unknown
is too highly priced

we look back
try on old scratchy

If we are wise, we realize
why we disgarded the garment

moth ridden, that never
fitted, nor shielded,
permeated sweetness,
or provdied essential warmth
that restricted circulation
bled the very essence
of our being, disguised
as a mink stole,
with the head of a rodent
high maintenance,
requiring persistant upkeep
covering only the jugular
from which it had pierced...

Choosing a garment to fit
is no mean feat,
leaving the prospective
wearer, to decide.
