The last of my prairie/solitude poems.

Poem Artwork

Communion #1

Stars twitching for attention

In the early moonless sky.

Bottle of wine half gone,

One piece of Swiss on my plate.

Miles from anywhere

Deep in a prairie canyon.

Solemnly alone.

Wind whistles softly

Through the dry prairie grass.

Coyote howls and another responds.

Alone.

Such solitary aloneness!

Dark night full of nothing human.

Crawling into my little tent,

I relish the communion of the Goddess

Peacefully longing for her touch.

Oh mister pessimist you err. You bottle is half full based on what I read here. The Goddess will appreciate her share during communion. Patrick
