Poem Artwork

A fire-mist and a planet, A crystal and a cell, A jellyfish
and a saurian, And caves where the cavemen dwell; Then
a sense of law and beauty, And a face turned from the clod.  Some call it Evolution, And others call it God.
~ William Herbert Carruth~

POSTERIOR REPLAY?

Liquid fire, moonshine's glow
Scorching tongues, forked in row
Blazing light.......eternal flame
Midnight skies....sizzled frame

Rivers running 'cross the skies
Wild dancing...world awry
Up is down.....hot is cool
Winds of change.....break the rules

Earthbound flies, skies grow thin
Solid, rumbles, quakes and spins
Hours lengthen, days won't sleep
Shallows yawn, and swallow deep

Peek-a-boo, what are you?
Here's a riddle...solid...through
Tell me what's beneath your feet!
Concentrate, try not to cheat!

Can you feel it, 'neath your toes
Inhale, exhale...fill your nose!
Press it smooth..... or let it tumble
To vesseled earth...we bow humbled

Patience beyond time unknown
Slaved it, claimed it as our home
Changed the course of purest face
Mastered all as human race

Come the end, whose hand will rule
Did we learn, as we were schooled?
Millions stand...upon the one

The end may be....as it begun

Yes, the end may, just like it begun. What flair! What truth! What gravity! Science on hormones, ... or god?

1968. My grandmother and I sat in the front row of a wide screen theatre in Los Altos. The ape-man picked up a tapir bone and used it as a tool, a weapon. That music came up and I was mesmerized. My grandmother closed her eyes for the rest of the show. Thanks for reminding me!

(((lady a)))

GAD i love this--one of your best! catchy little meter and perfect rhyming has got me bouncing to your words...this one is going to linger a while...and it will live happily ever after in my library, where only the best poems go--and you've penned a classic! BRAVA!

(((HUGS))), love and continued prayers, karla. :)
