You may have PMS if you have these physical symptoms up to two weeks
before your period: exhaustion; sleep disturbances; breast swelling;
bloating; weight gain; acne; cravings for sweets; constipation, then
diarrhea, irritability; depression; anxiety; confusion; feeling out of
control, yada yada yada....... BITE MEEEE....ugh!
RAMBLES OF A PREMENSTRUAL HARPIE
Leave me alone
Don't telephone
Because I'll only moan and groan
Got nuttin' to say
And I like it that way
So don't bore me with insipid cliches
I just wanna eat
Something salty and sweet
With an extended shelf life, that minutes can't beat
Wanna stay in bed,
Just hidin' my head
Cuz pretty soon I'll be seein' RED!
I'm feeling old
And truth be told
These days I wouldn't label as gold
The energy,
That once was me......
I'm looking for, but just cannot see
Neglected mirror on the wall
Reveal the woman, I recall
Who is this organism, staring at me?
Am I paying debts for Eve's cravings under that tree?
Got me a bag of makeup tricks
Concealers, eye shadows, and moist lipsticks
But the tremendous effort to spackle them on
Makes me play the ducking, and not the swan
This syndrome only lasts a few days
When I feel, sappy, distracted and crazed
Cuz if I was like this all of the time
I'd be in the looney bin, totally out of my mind!
Eve bit the apple, OH HOW THAT BITES!!!
So for a few days, I avoid wearing white......
My mood is grey, on those premenstrual days
But what can I do.....life's just that way!
Ok I know, I don't have it THAT bad
Some women go nutz, and then they act glad!
I just want to chill out, and be left alone
Just a sweet middle aged lady, without a mean bone!
Ahhhhhhhhhh
You believe that?

Sanitary Napkins
Encyclopedia of Women's History - from Jone Johnson Lewis
by Giles Slade, Ph.D.
Sanitary napkins have an important place in women's history and in the history of technology. 19th Century research into disposable sanitary napkins marked the humble beginnings of a new era of gynecological sanity. Disposable Sanitary Napkins appeared in Germany as early as the 1880s but were unavailable to American women because of the Comstock Laws. The invention of cellucotton in WWI however, lent itself to other applications including disposable bandages and, by extension, sanitary napkins. Not surprisingly, the first Kleenex products -- disposable mass market consumer items intended to replace more durable goods (in this case handkerchiefs) appeared (1920 - 1924) a few short years after the appearance of sanitary napkins during the Great War.
