Poem Artwork

Sanity is a cosy lie....Unknown

MADNESS

It strikes us all no matter what age
Those greenest and fresh, or wisest and sage
A curse and a blessing, a sickness or cure
So bitter, yet sweet, a honey liquor

An addiction? A pleasure? A compulsion? Or gift?
Can ground you, confound, you or set
you adrift.
This sweet delirium, that grows ever bold
A dance on a tightrope, eyes under blindfold

The extinction of doubts to the forefront of trust
A canvas recycled, so white under dust
Striking like lightening, or smooth as a breeze
Memories lay prostrate, captivating armies

Quenching parched hearts, dry as the sands
Paradise is renewed, a verdant grassland
This madness we wait for, this madness we fear
Exodus from genesis, so close a frontier
First step on the path, first knock on the door
It opens, you peek in....Clutch Love To the Core!

Uh.. this is a deep-cutting verse..evasive, elusive, suggestive, baffling, disruptive and full of absent delirium.. oh my God, you succeeded in rationalizing 'madness'!

Not sure how it is we have missed each other, but I'm thrilled about the connection now! Really flowing with your rhythms--
Have read the opening three stanzas a number of times just to feel it. Vicky
