I have a Texas friend that every so often writes a poem or refrain, and sends it to me, and asks me to tweak it or add to it....this is one we came up with last month...(he is into that sad Cowboy stuff, which I am not...but its fun to fake it!) I NEVER LOOKED INTO HER EYES I never looked her in the eye When it was time to say goodbye I knew that if I saw her pain That I would surely ........just remain If it hurt her so bad If she was so very sad Then somebody tell me why I never heard her cry (this is his refrain) But I had things I had to do Yet what they were......I had no clue The wild wind, was pulling me.... I always knew.....I had to leave If it hurt her so bad If she was so very sad Then somebody tell me why I never heard her cry She never ever told me ....no She never said...please stay .....don't go I didn't listen, I didn't find The time to look into her eyes....... If it hurt her so bad If she was so very sad Then somebody tell me why I never heard her cry At times I think, I would go back To try to pick up all the slack And maybe if I were to try I know I'd be the one to....... cry I'm sorry babe.....I didn't know The hurt I caused, when I'd just......go
