Those masks are so very necessary at times. You write in "real time," Anita - to read your words (your thoughts) is a privilage.

Some wear them for survival..others to fool people into believing they are something they are not.. Trick is.. figuring out who is hiding for what reason.. I wear mine because it I took it off I would scare the hell out of everyone..lol Great write.

Thank God for some masks..that can hide our feelings...sometimes it's hard to keep a staight face...LOL!!!

People feel safe behind those masks 'Anita'. And that's okay unless it becomes a wall instead of a mask. A mask can be taken off, when need be,,,but the wall has to be knocked down,,and more often than not,,it doesn't come so easily. Good write. Thanks so much for sharing this. Lisa

good luck...it is so difficult to cast off the masks, as i'm sure you've experienced..but it must start with the willingness to do so as well as the recognition that it must be done if we are truly to be true to ourselves...thoughtful write, poet, thank you for droppin'!

"Why Do Some People Wear Masks" moves the shy forward to see her/his face on the mirror of life.

It is an excellent composition bearing the voice of wisdom, under the eyes of the wise. It is the filtered emotions of life depicted with words sung by a soul that synchronize wonders.
