There are no seven wonders of the world in the eyes of a child. There are seven million.
~Walt Streightiff

AT 7

Bloody noses, mosquito bites
Boys come to call, and then you fight!
You keep me going from first daylight
Then want to stay up past midnight!

Your in a rush to be like me
And wear my bra in secrecy
My makeup too, you give a try
And when your thru, you look cockeyed

You dance for me and make up songs
You love to add to ALL day long
Your favorite game, is make believe
What wondrous tales you love to weave!

I hope the years do not destroy
Your love of life and and all its joy
I'm thrilled you choose me as your mom
From heavens gates you came therefrom

It makes me smile when you say you want to be like me
I want so much for you my love, I want you to be free
And face your life with head held high, with confidence and hope
Just know no matter where you go, my hearts tied to your rope

MOM

So well written, Anita. I remember so well my own daughter declaring a desire to be like me. Ack! Horrors! But, then I said, "Just make sure its only my good parts." You're a great poet, Anita, and obviously a greater mother. ~~Bonnie Q

isn't seven a wonderful age?? a delightful tribute to your little girl; may you always have a special relationship with her! (((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in texas, karen lynn. :D p.s.: for the longest time, i wanted to keep my character, ronee' le-anne reaux, seven years old, but decided to age her. she is now nearing her 11th birthday; she'll be 11 on christmas day! check out her story, "people say no, but god says yes! (my testimony, by ronee', aged 10 1/2)".
